SINGAPORE, 8 Oct 2024 — Carousell Singapore and Singapore Post (SingPost) are making deliveries for secondhand items transacted via Carousell Official Delivery more affordable, convenient and secure. The partnership will focus on a fuss-free peer-to-peer shipping experience to encourage more customers to opt for tracked deliveries for secondhand selling. Tracked delivery is a safer option that helps to prevent eCommerce scams and gives customers a greater peace of mind.
Carousell sellers will now be able to drop off their parcels at POPStation and POPStop locations via Carousell Official Delivery. Sellers are also able to conveniently print shipping labels for free at POPStations. Carousell Official Delivery allows sellers to conveniently arrange and pay for affordable trackable delivery options fulfilled by logistics partners within the Carousell platform. Users enjoy reduced shipping rates starting from as low as S$2, and sellers have the flexibility to set on each listing if the shipping fee will be borne by the buyer or seller.
SingPost’s tracked letterbox service will also be available as one of the delivery options on Carousell. Sellers can drop off these items at any post box, POPStation and POPStop locations.
The secure service provides real-time tracking of items delivered directly to recipient’s letterboxes, enhancing convenience and customer assurance.
With more than 140 POPStations and POPStops that are conveniently located near MRT stations, shopping malls and in the heartlands, sellers have easy access to drop off their items anytime, any day. Buyers can either receive their items in the letterbox or at their doorstep, depending on the size of their purchases.
Mr Vishal Salunkhe, Vice President and Head of Commercial, Carousell, said: “With the recent publication of our Safety Policy in line with the Singapore Online Criminal Harms Act and its Code of Practice for E-Commerce Services, users must use the ‘Buy’ button’ to make payment if dealing via delivery or arrange to meet up. To make it accessible for anyone to comply and not expose themselves to risk of scams with private arrangements, we are excited to partner with SingPost to co-create delivery options that are trusted and convenient while still being affordable.”
Mr Shahrin Abdol Salam, Chief Executive Officer Singapore, SingPost, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing our logistics solutions closer to the vibrant Carousell community. This partnership isn’t just about moving packages, but offering trackability for deliveries that are made more affordable, secure and convenient. It is also a step towards making the circular economy more accessible and sustainable. This is an exciting step towards our vision of revolutionising eCommerce logistics while placing focus on sustainability.”
Carousell and SingPost will continue to develop more convenient solutions for our customers.
