HONG KONG, 14 August 2024 — Carousell users can now pay for items directly and arrange for tracked deliveries with new payments and delivery features integrated within the app. With the collaboration of trusted partners AlipayHK and S.F. Express (Hong Kong) Limited (“SFHK”), users can buy and sell more conveniently with greater assurance. With Carousell’s Buyer Protection, sellers will only receive the payment after the buyer has confirmed receiving the items as expected, thus reducing the risk of non-delivery scams for buyers. Sellers are also protected from buyers making false claims to get refunds.
Convenience in transacting is an important factor to increase adoption for secondhand and to drive the circular economy in Hong Kong. In past surveys, users ranked convenience in purchasing as the third most important option for consideration when buying secondhand items after quality and price. In fact, 61% of Hong Kong users said they have been buying more secondhand items because it is increasingly convenient to do so.

Pay with AlipayHK or credit cards within Carousell
Users can pay directly within the app using AlipayHK and credit cards with the assurance that their payment information is securely handled with global security standards by the payment processing partners. Sellers do not have to worry about the buyer’s payment modes as regardless of how buyers make payment, sellers can transfer the amount directly into their bank account after the transaction is completed. This also provides a safer option for sellers who are concerned about buyers not paying after receiving items and vice versa for buyers who worry about not receiving items after paying.
Arrange for SFHK to make deliveries within the platform’s checkout page
To make delivery of items more reliable and trustworthy, Carousell has collaborated with SFHK to integrate logistics arrangements within the platform’s checkout page and track orders on the order details page. Sellers can drop the parcel off at SF Business Stations or SF Stores, and buyers can pick up the parcel at SFHK’s self-operated network points — skipping the need to match each other’s schedules for meet ups.
Shop with assurance from trusted sellers
Buyers will have more assurance when shopping as sellers will not be allowed to enable the official payments and delivery options if they do not meet the criteria, such as review rating and order completion rate, or should there be multiple instances where orders are not fulfilled. Should buyers still wish to proceed with the transaction without using Carousell’s payment feature, they are strongly advised to opt for meet up to be able to inspect the items and pay in person.

在結帳頁面內安排順豐速運的配送服務
為了使商品配送更加可靠和值得信賴，Carousell 與順豐香港合作，在平台的結帳頁面整合物流安排，並可在訂單詳情頁面追蹤訂單。賣家可以將包裹送到順豐營業點或順豐站，而買家可以在順豐自營網點取件，省去雙方協調時間見面的麻煩。
安心購物 信賴優質賣家
買家購物將更有保障，如果賣家未達到審核標準，例如評價分數和訂單完成率，或者有多次未完成訂單的情況，將無法啟用官方支付和配送功能。若買家仍希望在不使用 Carousell 支付功能的情況下進行交易，Carousell 強烈建議買家選擇面交，以便檢查物品並當面付款。
