Carousell opens booth with one of the largest electronics supply at The Hong Kong Computer and Communications Festival 2021
Carousell, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing classifieds marketplace, is hosting a booth at the Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2021 from 20 to 23 August 2021. With over 1.1 million electronics listings available at Carousell’s booth, it has probably one of the largest electronics supply at the fair. In addition, with the theme “The Whole Electronics Mall is Already in Your Hands”, Carousell has a unique twist planned with its booth this year.
Showcasing Carousell’s creative approach to connect with visitors
With online shopping becoming the norm as a result of Covid-19 restrictions and a boost by the government’s Consumption Voucher Scheme, consumers are looking for innovative online shopping options which are accessible whenever. Carousell provides a good solution for them with one of the largest electronics marketplace in their hands, that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To highlight this unique value proposition, Carousell decided to be creative in the marketing approach for this year’s booth and emphasise the key message that “The Whole Electronics Mall is Already in Your Hands” in a literal and humorous manner.
In the days leading up to the festival, Carousell invited one of HK’s top influencers Flavia Wong 黃可盈 to showcase Carousell’s platform capabilities. She will sell her pre-loved DJI Osmo Pocket gimbal on Carousell. The buyer of the item will meet with Ms. Wong at Carousell’s booth at the festival on August 21 at 2pm to deal with her.
Largest electronics supply within the palm of your hands
Within the first seven months of 2021, there have been about 1.1 million electronics listings on Carousell, with new and secondhand listings having almost 50-50 weightage. Popular items listed include video games, computers and tablets. Demand for electronic goods is also strong with over 140 million listing views in the same period. Besides electronic goods for sale, Carousell also has a variety of electronics services, such as repair for computers, mobile phones, smartwatch and game consoles; upgrading of computer parts; and phone customisation.
Continuing the success of 2019 Computer Festival
Drawing upon the impressive response from the 2019 Computer Festival, Carousell decided to go the extra mile and position the brand as a field leader. With new user sign-ups doubling in three days, the 2019 promotion was a success. Offering a “self-service” booth at the Festival, Carousell differentiates itself from other companies and aims to empower its customers with solutions that are unconstrained, both in terms of time and location. This year’s booth is poised to further increase Carousell’s outreach, with new user sign-ups and app traffic expected to climb. Carousell is more than a C2C platform, with many merchants who also accept one of the four digital payment methods so shoppers can utilise their Consumption Vouchers.
“At Carousell, we always place convenience as one of our top priorities to reduce the barriers to encourage everyone to start selling and buying. The Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2021 will further boost our presence in the local market and introduce new users to our progressive ecosystem, offering innovative and reliable solutions to our customers-” said Kevin Huang, Managing Director of Carousell Hong Kong.
“Carousell is more than an online marketplace, it is also a tool of empowerment that accompanies sellers in their entrepreneurial journey. Currently about 20% of our CarouBiz merchants are selling electronics, and have seen about a 30% increase in leads on Carousell, especially during dry months with low foot traffic. Having an online shopfront can help create more revenue streams for electronics businesses,” he added.
As one of Hong Kong’s largest electronics online marketplaces, Carousell is already in your hands 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ready to satisfy your shopping cravings at any given time. Come and visit the innovative booth from 20 to 23 August at C25 and C27, right across from the eSport Zone.
