Singapore, 17 August 2021 Carousell, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing classifieds, today announced the launch of #SayYesToBlessings, to help empower non-profit organisations in digitalising and amplifying their causes online. This initiative is a part of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre’s National Day 2021 Campaign, ‘Together, Singapore Cares’, which champions the spirit of doing good in the community.

The non-profit organisations will have their accounts upgraded to CarouBiz Charities Package, a complimentary subscription to a suite of premium tools, designed to help these organisations. Each package, valued at over $1500, comprises a year of CarouBiz Charities Package and $1200 worth of Carousell coins (marketing credits) to purchase additional ads and promotional tools on Carousell. Through this initiative, users will also be able to make direct donations to these organisations, with 100% of the donation going directly to them.

With the CarouBiz Charities Package, these organisations will have access to tools such as video listings, profile cover photo for branding, premium badge for credibility. Each of them will be allocated a dedicated Client Success Manager who helps to provide digital marketing support, guides on how to maximise these tools and best practices. These resources will allow the charitable organisations to showcase their causes like a virtual showroom, all within their Carousell profile.

“At Carousell, all of us are inspired by the numerous charitable acts that our community has carried out. With the pandemic affecting these charitable organisations’ offline flagdays and fundraising events, we are proud to bring them onto Carousell, where 1 in 3 Singaporeans are using the platform monthly. As a homegrown startup, we’re humbled to be able to give back this National Day, to create positive changes in our community and be each other’s allies,” said Ng Chee Soon, Managing Director, Carousell Singapore.

One non-profit organisation that’s using Carousell to reach new donors is TAA Trust Fund.

“We are heartened by Carousell’s initiatives to support charities and empower the community as we face unprecedented challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are currently without the traditional means of fundraising. Digital initiatives and online donations have been crucial to sustaining the funds required for TAA Trust Fund to provide financial assistance for our 3,600 beneficiaries. Carousell’s Campaign will enable TAA Trust Fund to reach new donors online through the platform and raise the much-needed funds for the underprivileged,” said Didicazli Ismail, Manager, TAA Trust Fund.

Apart from monetary donations, various charities have also used Carousell as a platform to solicit essential items such as masks, medical supplies and food items. One such example is Food From The Heart, a charity set up to alleviate hunger by providing reliable, consistent and sustainable food support to the less-fortunate through food distribution programmes.a charity organisation that protects and nurtures children and youth of all races and religions.

CEO of Food from the Heart, Ms Sim Bee Hia said, ”As a charity who has to raise every dollar, the partnership with Carousell helps us not only to reach out to more and new donors, it also helps share our cause of providing reliable, consistent and sustainable food support to the less fortunate.  Carousell’s kind gesture is especially timely at a time when the pandemic has shut off traditional fund-raising avenues like roadshows and events. It further expands Food from the Heart’s presence online, which is critical to our outreach efforts.”

Participating charities include Causes For Animals, Engineering Good, Food From The Heart, iCareHub, Limitless, PPIS, Red Cross, Singapore Association for the Deaf, Salvation Army, Singapore Children’s Society, SPCA, SUN-DAC, TAA Trust Fund and YMCA. Interested non-profit organisations can also reach out to Carousell here for more information.

#SayYesToBlessings is the latest in Carousell’s initiatives to support and empower communities during the COVID-19 situation, other initiatives include COVID-19 Free Ads for Charity, where the company offered up $2 million in an advertising support program for non-profit organisations helping the communities impacted by COVID-19, as well as initiated a movement called #ChooseToGive to encourage Singaporeans to donate items through its platform amid COVID-19. Carousell was also recognised as a Champion of Good in 2020 by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre’s Company of Good.
